Picking Your Bare Root Fruit Tree

Come learn essential information on the selection and the proper planting of bare root fruit trees. Fruit tree varieties best suited for our Western Nevada County area will be discussed in depth. Instructor – Linnie McNaughton. Linnie has been gardening in the foothills for over 30 years. In 1995 Linnie originated Green Blessing making fine, handcrafted, small batch olive oil and goat's milk soaps and a wide variety of herbal bath and body products. Limited to 15 people and Masks are Required.

Whether you're planting a new orchard or caring for an ancient tree, knowing when and where to start pruning can be the hardest part. In this class, we'll show you how easy it can be! You will learn how to work with your plants' natural growth habits and not against them by using the science behind how plants grow and react to pruning. We will discuss the basic guidelines, techniques and tools for pruning all your trees, vines, and bushes, with a focus on fruit trees. Bring your questions!
Class will be outside, so dress warmly and you must wear a mask.
