Tender Annual Bush. Vigorous, erect plants are prolific producers of broad, flat and slightly curved 3" pods. Pods have 3-5 chestnut-colored seeds that are splashed with purple-black and a nice nutty flavor. Sets well in hot weather.

Planting & Care

Soil and Water: Legumes like well-drained soil rich in organic matter and with a moderate amount of nutrients. Water lightly at planting, moderately at flowering, and heavily throughout harvest time. Avoid overhead watering.

Planting and Growing: Sow directly in garden when soils have warmed and danger of frost has passed. Seeds will benefit from an application of rhizobium bacteria prior to planting. Keep seedbed evenly moist. Sow every 2 weeks for a continual supply of beans.

Harvesting and Storage: Bush beans will produce all of their fruit over a few weeks' time. Leave the pods on the plant until they have completely dried. Store dry, shelled beans in an airtight container.
