Description
Trifolium repens Perennial legume cover crop.
Lowest-growing white clover, often planted in lawns because it tolerates regular mowing and shade, and requires summer irrigation. Recommended by M. Fukuoka (The One Straw Revolution) for use in permanent vegetable and row crop plantings.
- Application Rate: 0.25"-0.5" deep, 0.5-1 lb/1000 sq ft or 15-20 lb/acre
- Inoculant: None needed, seed is nitrocoated
- Germination: 5-10 Days
- Plant Height: 8"
- Use: Cover crop, turf, erosion control
- Facts to Note: Spreads rapidly, chokes weeds and can be invasive. Does well on acid to moderately alkaline soils. Prefers moist, well-drained soil with plenty of lime, phosphate and potash, and is adversely affected by synthetic Nitrogen. Plant in fall or spring.
Note to Certified Organic Growers: All our cover crop seed is untreated, non-GMO seed. This is conventional seed, but the seed is coated with Nitro-Coat Organic, which is an OMRI listed coating. This coating uses all organic ingredients: the proper rhizobacteria, a Calcium Carbonate coating that is naturally water absorbing to speed seed germination, and an OMRI listed organic adhesive.
